Complete bathroom, same layout
Everything out, new pipes and electrics, underfloor heating, new tiles and fittings. The layout stays, so the drainage stays where it is.
Demolition, water and waste pipes, electrics, underfloor heating, tiling and fittings. At most companies that is four different trades. With us it is one team, one planning and one contact who speaks English. A complete bathroom usually takes two to three weeks.
What makes a bathroom good is mostly out of sight: pipes with enough pressure, a drain with the right fall, a waterproof layer under the tiles, proper ventilation and electrics that are safe in a wet room. Get those right and the tiles and fittings you choose will look good for twenty years.
At Boers & Breuer Totaalbouw the plumbing, the electrics, the tiling and the fitting are done by our own team. That means no waiting for the plumber before the tiler can start, and no discussion about whose fault a leak is. You choose the tiles and fittings, and we can come with you to the showroom if you like. Joeri Boers is your contact, in English.
We renovate bathrooms in Eindhoven, Veldhoven, Den Bosch, Tilburg, Breda and Helmond, as a complete project, not as a quick swap of a few parts.
Four steps from the first visit to a bathroom you can use.
Joeri looks at the room, the pipes, the drain and the ventilation, and talks through your wishes: walk-in shower, bath, double washbasin, underfloor heating.
You choose tiles and fittings, with our advice if you want it. You receive an itemised quote in English and a start date.
The old bathroom comes out. New water and waste pipes, electrics, underfloor heating and a waterproof layer go in, before anything is closed.

Moving the shower, adding a bath, or combining the bathroom with the toilet. We check where the drain can go before you fall in love with a plan.
A level shower floor with a drain in the floor or a channel drain. It needs a precise fall and a waterproof layer under the tiles, which is exactly where cheap jobs fail.
No step into the shower, reinforced walls for grab rails later, a wider door. Designed so you can stay in your home for years, without looking clinical.
Guide prices for a bathroom renovation including demolition, pipework, electrics, tiling work and fitting. The tiles and fittings you choose have a big influence, so your quote itemises them separately.

Most bathroom problems start behind the tiles: a joint in the waterproofing that was never sealed, a drain without enough fall, an extractor fan that is too weak for the room. You do not see any of it on the day of handover, and all of it shows within a few years. That is why we renew the installations as standard in a complete bathroom, and why we test the drain and the waterproofing before the tiles go on.
A few things that are different here, and what they mean for your plans.
Many Dutch houses have the toilet in its own small room, sometimes on the ground floor only. Combining toilet and bathroom upstairs, or adding a second toilet, depends on where the soil pipe runs. We check that first.
In an apartment, the owners' association (VvE) usually has to approve work that touches the main pipes, the floor structure or the soundproofing. We help you prepare the request with a description of the work.
Dutch building rules require mechanical ventilation in a bathroom. In older houses the existing fan is often too weak, which leads to mould. We measure it and replace it if needed.
Four mistakes that only show after a year or two, and how we prevent them.
Tiles and grout are not waterproof. Without a sealed membrane underneath, water slowly finds its way into the floor and the ceiling below. We apply it as standard, with extra attention to the corners and the drain.
The water should run to the drain, not towards the rest of the bathroom. A level shower needs a precise fall in the floor, planned before the screed is laid.
In houses from before 1990, old galvanised steel pipes silt up and lose pressure. Replacing them later means breaking out your new tiles. We replace them during the renovation.
A bathroom without enough ventilation stays damp, and mould follows. The fix is a properly sized extractor with a humidity sensor and a gap under the door for fresh air, not more cleaning.
The houses differ per city, and so does what we find behind the tiles.

A complete bathroom of 4 to 6 m² costs €9,000 to €16,000 and takes two to three weeks. The tiles and fittings you choose move that number more than anything else, which is why we itemise them separately. A new layout costs more mainly because the drainage has to move, and that is always the first thing we check.
The quality of a bathroom is decided behind the tiles: new pipes where the old ones are worn, a drain with the right fall, a sealed waterproof layer and ventilation that actually removes the moisture. Those are the parts we never skip, even in a tight budget.
